Racked Cherry Melomel to Clarifier

11/04/2017

I racked my mead this morning placing it into a clean carboy off of the cherries that it had been sitting in for the last 30 days. This is my first try at making it and I’m sure I’ll discover errors that I’ve made along the way learning. Its currently at an ABV that’s little over 10% and now needs to clarify for another 30 days before I bottle it. I’ll let you know how it is in December when I get that done and sample what it has become. Currently, it smells amazing but tastes a little yeasty which is expected as I need the rest of the yeast to settle out of the mead.

I'll keep you posted.
