A Good Day

Control system

Today was a good day. First, removed the bolt holding the cable next to the fuselage off and the trim tab control cable. Second, moved the casing of the cable forward several inches so the exposed wire only extends 4 1/2" at both ends at the most. Now the cable doesn't buckle in the cockpit when I move the control lever to full trim up. Finally, took off the leaf spring and clamped it to the workbench and beat it. Started damaging the leaf spring but took an old bolt and used that to protect the leaf spring a bit. Looks like it's really close to the angle I want. I'm going to get some chains this week and hook up the tail wheel to the turning bar to see if it’s the correct angle. If not, I'll work on the other end and get it to the perfect angle.
