Wood glue and epoxy

03/02/2013

Fuselage

I put this under the Fuselage category because that's where I did most of the work. However, I did work on other areas as well. Wood glue does not bond to epoxy varnish. So, I decided to mix up a batch of epoxy glue to glue the elevator trim tab support on. First, sanded the varnish to give the glue something to bond to. I then applied the glue to the support and clamped it into position. It's been a while when I last mixed a batch of epoxy glue up and I forgot how little I actually need. So, I had enough to finish gluing on the rear cabane.

Next, I glued together the static port. Finally, I added some wood flour and filled in the access holes I drilled in the leading edge of the cabane.
