This weekend, I bought some hardened steel bolts and finished putting the landing gear back together. Sunday, I decided to put the landing gear back on the fuselage. However, it wasn't as easy as the directions made it out to be. I removed the pins from the hinge on the landing gear per the instructions thinking that all I would have to do is put the pins back in when I was done painting them. No so. One pin only went in about 2 inches and the other would only go in about an eighth on an inch and then bent the hinge. I had to remove the lower part of the hinge from the landing hear before I could tap the pin back into the hinge. After four hours, finally got the gear back on. Rearranged the garage to fit it all in and now the bikes are right up against the car. Karin is ok with this even though I have to back the car out before anybody else can get in it.
